Hometown End of the Year Dirt

During a normal winter, I would be gearing up for some good snowboarding or snowshoeing in the mountains. But since there is no snow, the bicycle wheels are still turning.

This December had to be the best local mountain biking weather in history. No or very little snow on the trails and bright sunny days made for some excellent winter trail conditions.

Although I didn't make it out on the trails nearly as much as i would have liked, I did get out.

This is the first time I have ever been able to ride from my front door and hit my hometown dirt trails on DECEMBER 31st!

I was able to put in a quick hour of 10 miles and 617 feet of climbing. A fitting end to 2011 with a ride on the dirt. I still can't believe I am not buried in snow.

I need to total my 2011 miles. Stay tuned.
