Will this help me or hurt me?

You be the judge.

Part 1

Now that its January and the Christmas Holiday season is over its time to start exercising again. OK I will be honest I never really stopped exercising, but January always makes me want to start training harder.

I rode the bike trainer last night for what I thought would be an hour. As the hour mark approached I realized I was only a couple hundred calories away from burning 1,000 calories. Why not continue on, it couldn't take that loan could it? A couple minutes later, about 10-15 I was done with the bike trainer, burning 1,000 calories. I felt good really could have kept riding, but since it was 11;30pm I figured it was time to stop.

Part 2

Shortly... I say shortly since at 4am my alarm went off to go snowshoeing. I did have my doubts about if my body would be tired or not after riding the bike trainer and not being able to fall asleep that quickly last night. I felt fine and got dressed to go play out in the snow.

Jesse, Blake, and I did my favorite loop in Payson Canyon on snowshoes. I like to call it the Maple Lake/Creek Loop. After ascending to the lake you keep climbing until you reach a creek. There is a small creek that you can follow and sometimes have to cross over a couple times to hike back out. The snow is always so deep and the air is so quiet. It felt like I was walking on clouds today. I remember the last time I did this route last year my snowshoe broke through the snow and my foot went into the water. Luckily this didn't happen today.
Below are the print screens from this link of the snowshoe adventure. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=211906635335552263163.00049919507b829832bec

The max and min grades don't read very well, because we went up and down some pretty steep stuff.

My legs felt fine and were not tired. Maybe it just hasn't had enough time to catch up to me yet.

Way, way to much, will for sure hurt you more than help. For the rest of our sakes, ease up and go back to sampling exotic rootbeers for about a month, then start back up nice and easy.

Jason - I agree training too much can hurt. I am now tired this morning.

Rico - You are welcome anytime. I will email you next time I go.

Training is all about overloading and then resting. As long as you rest, things should be fine.

@Rico - the only thing is, you're not allowed to wear a sleeveless jersey for snowshoeing.

Brandon - Nice work. I gotta get going again, the trainer is SOOO boring for me.
